Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-10-24. Ian Lamourie, Ottawa, Ontario.
The service
UpYet places automated wake-up calls to phone numbers you add, repeats them until the person presses 1 or a set number of attempts is reached, and sends a text to your alert number when someone does not confirm.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login private and for the accuracy of the names, numbers and times you enter.
Consent of people you add
You may only add people who have agreed to receive these calls. Each number must reply YES to our text before it is called, and anyone can reply STOP to opt out. You must not use the service to harass, prank or contact anyone without permission.
Price and billing
The price is $15 per active number per month, plus applicable taxes, billed in advance by card through Stripe. Adding, removing or pausing numbers changes your bill, prorated for the current month. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard; service continues to the end of the paid period. Fees already paid are not refunded except where required by law.
No guarantee
Calls depend on phone networks, carriers and third-party providers outside our control. We do not guarantee that any call will be placed, delivered or answered, or that anyone will wake up or arrive on time. Do not rely on UpYet as the only way to wake someone for safety-critical or medical purposes.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ian Lamourie is not liable for missed shifts, lost jobs, lost income or any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the three months before the claim.
Ending the service
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, that are used to contact people without consent, or whose payments fail.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will email account holders about material changes at least 14 days before they take effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
